First aid seminar on January 26th, 2020
The dog finds the chocolate drawer, the iron reserve of Frauli and Herrli - snap it and it's gone. Can happen, but mustn't!
In order to be prepared for this or similar cases, the Lower Austria regional group organized the “First Aid for Dog Owners” course on Sunday, January 26th, 2020. In the morning, Dr. Heidi Reich everything you need to know about first aid for our four-legged companions and answered all the questions, because it is not for nothing that it is said that the dose makes the poison.
The entertaining lecture also included numerous practical examples of what things to look out for in the household.
Often it is the inconspicuous little things that can cause devastating effects, such as detergent pods. After lunch, it was time for all course participants: get on with the patient.
With the active support of two vets from the Viechdoktorei, it was possible to practice extensively at three different stations, e.g. applying bandages, checking breathing, palpation and correct counting of the pulse and, of course, resuscitation through chest compressions and ventilation.
In the meantime, as in the morning, all questions could be asked - the team of doctors was there to help and advise
