The courses offered by the Burgenland Regional Group
The courses offered by the regional group take place in small groups in training centers. In addition, there is the opportunity to attend training courses in various outdoor areas, for example to prepare for working tests or hunting tests. And finally, we also recommend our individual training for human-dog teams with special requirements.
The advantage of this one-on-one training is of course increased efficiency and effectiveness, because we can work in an environment that is as stress-free as possible and without major distractions from other participants. Of course, these training units also have a different price than classic group training. The classic group training is particularly useful and of course all the more important when the individual human-dog teams have progressed so far in their learning that working under distraction makes sense and thus a generalization of the learned behavior is possible.
Puppy training
The bond with humans and the socialization with conspecifics are the top priority. The being should be strengthened and various everyday situations (encounter with prams, various surfaces, etc.) should be familiarized with. The dexterity is strengthened by means of seesaws, ball pit and tunnel. In addition, the first basic commands such as calling, sitting or laying down are learned through play.
Young dog training
What has been learned is deepened and new commands are learned. The subordination is discussed in more detail here: walking on foot, calling while distracted, attachment and steadyness exercises. Only when the base is in place can the dummy training begin.
General training
The basic obedience is built up and the trust and interaction between dog and dog handler is strengthened. In addition to calling, sitting and putting down are the most important commands for a relaxed everyday life. You learn to understand the dog's behavior and to react correctly in certain situations. Problems are solved where they occur.
Retriever training
Even with retriever training, the most important thing is the basis - such as steadyness, sitting, laying down, walking and calling - this is consolidated. Building on this, marking, searching and instruction in connection with hearing, visual and whistling commands are trained.
The advanced riders train in varied terrain and increase the distances. Marking, searching, instructing, whistling signals, steadiness, water work and the resulting combinations are practiced. The many distractions (smells, terrain transitions, etc.) make the tasks more difficult. The aim is to train as closely as possible to the working test and hunting.
Hunting training
From initial experiences such as picking up and retrieving "cold" game to subjects such as trolling, water work, walk up, looking for lost animals and getting used to the shot are learned. The dogs are also familiarized with the shotgun. Those interested in our hunting courses (preparation course for hunting exams) are asked to register at our training center in Markt Allhau at the beginning of the course.
