THE INDIVIDUAL STATIONS

All dogs in a group may (should) run and play with each other in the group as part of a short walk together with the dog handlers and the judge.

You should not be afraid, insecure or even aggressive.

At this next station, the social behavior of your dog towards people (dog handlers or strangers, judges) and dogs and his play instinct is checked.

He should not react insecure, suspiciously evasive, fearful or aggressive. You should be able to motivate your dog to play with and without an object.

On a meadow with light vegetation (also possible in the forest), 4 dummies are laid out beforehand in a 30 x 30 step search area.

The handler can send the dog to search with a casual request. At least 2 dummies can be retrieved, but must at least be displayed.

The group stands with their leashed dogs apart in the field of vision of the judge. The dog handler walks about 15-20 paces out of the group with his dog on a leash. At a distance of approx. 40 paces, a helper visibly throws a marker (dummy) with a noise (shot 9mm).

At the judge's signal, the dog is leashed and sent to the dummy. Stepping in is not rated. The dog should pick up the dummy and come back to the handler with it. The dummy does not have to be fetched into the hand.

In addition, it should be noted that at this station the main focus is on the instinct for prey and retrieval and not on clean, correct retrieval.

The environmental mile consists of the following tasks, which the dog handler should complete individually with his dog:

  • Bei der Wäscheleine mit Vorhang soll der Hund durchgehen.
  • The cyclist comes on the side of the dog, turns around after about 10m and drives back. He rings the bell a couple of times.
  • The newspaper reader looks out from behind his newspaper and greets the dog and handler.
  • A person with a pram or buggy without a doll comes towards you.
  • At the encounter lane, the dog handler and dog meet people with walking sticks and umbrellas, the hand is given once.
  • A person shakes an iron chain in a tin bucket.
  • A person uses a player to simulate the sound of a forest worker with a chainsaw.

Finally, the dog is allowed into the water. He must swim with or without prey.
Ein Retriever, der nicht schwimmt, erhält keine Zuchtzulassung.

At the end of the test, the judge discusses the assessment with the dog handler.

The evaluation sheets will be handed over on site.
The judge's judgment is final and cannot be challenged.
Insulting the judge or the organizational staff can lead to disciplinary measures.

If a dog is obviously overwhelmed by stress or fear in the course of the test, the judge is entitled to cancel the breeding suitability assessment in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act and the test is considered to have failed.
