Buying a puppy is a matter of trust.
In the last few days another shocking case of puppy trafficking in Austria has been uncovered.

Customs officials found 11 Labrador puppies in a trunk of two Slovak men during a traffic check. The dogs were in poor health and, according to the smugglers, were destined for a kennel in Salzburg. This case shows once again how puppies are being abused as a business model. Unscrupulous multipliers apparently have dEn route from boot sales to supposed "breeders" found.

The board of the Austrian Retriever Club would like to distance itself clearly from such machinations on behalf of its breeders and appeal to all puppy buyers to buy retrievers with FCI / ÖKV / ÖRC papers!
Buying a puppy is a matter of trust and some “papers” are not worth the money on which they were printed. It also happens that puppy buyers suddenly get foreign papers for a dog bought in Austria. This approach can also be illegal puppy trading!

Breeders of the ÖRC have to adhere to strict breeding conditions and every litter is checked on site before the puppies are allowed to move into their new families. The ÖRC stands for the quality of the kennels and offers puppy buyers the security of not being part of any criminal machinations.
