WORKING TESTS in the ÖRC

Working tests offer us the incomparable possibility to prove the innate retrieving ability of our retrievers all year round in different levels of difficulty. During this test, situations from hunting practice are simulated with the help of dummies (these are filled linen bags).

We also give non-hunters the opportunity to manage their dogs in a retriever-friendly manner, thus taking into account our statutory task of maintaining and promoting the 6 wonderful retriever breeds in their original function. The valid examination regulations for working tests in Austria can be found under Downloads.

All ÖRC Working Test dates and tenders can be found under the heading Events and please select the Working Test under "Category".

There are 5 classes in the Working Test, in all classes you have to solve tasks together with the dog, the higher the class, the higher the level of difficulty:

For all beginners or those who want to get a taste of the air during a working test. As the name suggests, the first working test that is contested, with exercises that are as simple as possible.

Now the tasks are getting a bit more difficult and the required level is higher.

If a retriever corresponds to the M level one can already speak of "that he can do something". In this class experience is expected from the dog handler-dog team, the work is "second nature".

The tasks are difficult here, really good dog handlers and dogs start in the Open.

this is where the older generations start from the age of 8, the tasks are demanding and adapted according to experience, but the age of the dogs is also taken into account. Of course, the fun factor shouldn't be lost for our older retrievers.
